About

Timothy Tan, Ph.D.

Hi, I'm Tim. I was raised in Singapore and live in Melbourne, Australia. I've been many things: Marine Biologist, Lecturer, Researcher, Editor. But my primary passion is teaching, and I'm fortunate enough to have taught thousands of students from prep to university.

I run Square Academy in Melbourne, a place where I mentor children and teenagers to develop the skills that truly matter in life - creativity, critical thinking and a love of learning.

When I'm not teaching or spending time with my family, I'm learning a new skill, developing a new idea, or writing about them.

This blog contains some of my independent research and thoughts about education, technology and society. Here you'll find honest, well-meaning discussions about issues we don't talk enough about.
