Every year, two million children around the world are trafficked — sold into forced labour or sexual exploitation.

Do you know which country is the greatest recipient of trafficked children?

This country is not in the Middle East. It’s not in Africa. It’s not in Asia.

The greatest importer of trafficked children is The United States of America.

Not many people know this.

And that’s why a group of people decided to make a film that would open the eyes of millions to the reality of child trafficking. Sound of Freedom was filmed in 2018 but was shelved for years and had every obstacle possible thrown at it, up to and including the opening weekend. It seemed like some people really didn’t want the film to go public.

But after the producers bought back the rights to the film from Disney and crowdfunded distribution costs, the film made it into theatres in 2023.

I remember breaking down and sobbing after watching the trailer.
